ARBORFEST is an opportunity to gather our key partners at Iona House for a festival of celebration, thanksgiving, and the sharing of vision for the upcoming season. It is a time to hear stories of God’s faithfulness, fellowship together, and experience a taste of the ongoing life of Iona House alongside others.

Schedule of Activities

Saturday, October 10

Arrive anytime before 9am
9:00am - Morning Prayer
10:00am - Brunch (food provided)

  • Founders Update

  • Celebrating God’s work at Iona House; anticipating the next season

Noon - Midday Prayer
Afternoon - Choose from options including:

  • A guided walking tour highlighting recent projects and upcoming developments

  • Communal song practice (learning Taize choruses for Evening Prayer)

  • Contemplative Arts stations (candlemaking, prayer beads, etc.)

  • Joining an author discussion / interview with Dr. Alex Fogleman (author of award winning book Making Disciples)

(note that you will be able to do multiple options…)

3:00pm - ARBORFEST BBQ (food provided)
4:30pm - Sung Evensong - we will close the day out with a beautiful service of singing and prayer.

* - Though no childcare is offered, the day is family friendly and will include activities for kids and parents to do together.

** - We would love for our entire ARBOR Community to attend from near and far. If you do not live locally or regionally and would like to stay overnight, we would love to try to arrange accommodations for you. Please indicate your need for accommodations upon registering

Friday Symposium: Making Disciples

October 9 (all day)

Dr. Alex Fogleman of Trinity Anglican Seminary will join the Iona House staff, residents, and others to present key aspects of the early church’s historic understanding of the process of forming disciples. This is an opportunity to explore the early history of Christian catechesis and formation with a leading researcher, professor, and author in this field.
