Iona House Chickens
The newest addition to the Iona House farm are the arrival of seven Rhode Island Red hens. They are content to wander around scratching and looking for grubs. The bring lots of joy to our guests, especially kids. Collectively they lay about 4 eggs a day, which the Residents often share with guests. In a time when egg prices have gone waaay up, it’s great to have these little layers.
The chickens were the gift of Jason Entgelmeier, who was our campus manager from November through January. We are so grateful for his investment in Iona House. We and his wife Emily and their daughter Felicity moved to Connecticut to be near family as they prepare to welcome the newest member of their family in a month or so.
